Frequently Asked Questions
What does Hunyuan Qi mean?
In the science of Zhineng Qigong the specific term ‘Hunyuan’ refers to the merging of substances and their transformation into a whole entity (or holon). Everything in the universe is formed through at least two things merging and transforming – the universe consists of these innumerable holons; the famous yin-yang symbol represents this principle. Hunyuan Qi is formed by the unification of the three substances: physical matter, Qi and information.
There are two sources of Hunyuan Qi, also referred to as ‘life force energy’ – the Qi of nature (external Qi), and the Qi of the human body (internal Qi), and these two are in continual interrelation and interpenetration – they transform, balance and benefit each other, and thus represent the very evolution and regeneration of life.
All material has Hunyuan Qi within and around it. The Hunyuan Qi around a physical entity is called the Qi field. The larger or denser the volume of material, the bigger and more concentrated the Hunyuan Qi field will be.
What does Zhineng Qigong mean?
Zhineng Qigong utilises Qi as a form of information capable of effecting physical changes in targeted areas during Qi therapy. ‘Zhi’ means intelligence or wisdom, and can be literally translated as “knowing the source”. ‘Neng’ means the power or ability to heal. Together, these terms encompass our highest human capacities, including brain functions and physical abilities. Zhineng Qigong is therefore a type of Qigong intended to develop intelligence and improve one’s competences and abilities to reach our full human potential. It is also an excellent method to activate the body’s self-healing abilities and increase overall life quality. Through regular practice one can also develop paranormal intelligence.
Zhineng Qigong was created in the early 1980’s by Dr. Pang Ming after many years of intensive study of different types of qigong, Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Zhineng Qigong can be a described as an ‘holistic system’ that is based on the laws of nature and developed to promote physical, emotional and mental well-being; Zhineng Qigong offers many methods and tools and is one of the world’s most effective self-health care management system. It is the most widely respected and practiced Qigong in China, where it is intended to improve abilities and reach full human potential.
How does Zhineng Qigong and Hunyuan Qi Therapy assist with healing?
Not only can one activate one’s self-healing abilities by practising the methods and exercises of Zhineng Qigong on a daily basis, but one can also receive external Hunyuan Qi Therapy. A trained Hunyuan Qi Therapist can create a Qi field an individual and send them Qi and healing information for their recovery and rejuvenation, while clearing blockages and helping activate their self-healing process.
A Hunyuan Qi Therapy session includes a conversation about your intention and what issues you would like to resolve. The atmosphere of a session is very relaxed, open and natural, as this is the best environment for the healing Qi and information to create a positive effect.
The Hunyuan Qi Therapist will work with you on these four levels to help reach your healing intention:
- Strengthening the functions of the body Qi field
- Strengthening the functions of the membrane system
- Restoring and strengthening the functions of the Qi and blood-exchange pathways
- Changing and evolving negative emotional states, limiting thought processes and behavioural patterns
Hunyuan Qi Therapy involves healing the body’s membrane function and strengthening the membrane system. Improving the membrane system will improve health naturally, as all organs, cells, bones, etc. are connected by the membrane system. The membrane system functions as a pathway through which materials for survival are transported, and it is also considered a ‘Qi-exchange pathway’.
Hunyuan Qi Therapy sessions can help you to heal more effectively. They can also improve the efficacy of medication and other medical treatments such as surgery. After the therapy session most people report positive sensations such as feeling light, peaceful, relaxed and happy. Often symptoms are relieved straight away. Your Hunyuan Qi Therapist will also advise you on specific Zhineng Qigong methods and exercises to practice at home for your healing to progress more effectively. Hunyuan Qi Therapy, combined with your own Zhineng Qigong practice, will accelerate your progress and can also help with conditions where the support of Western medicine has been limited.
